Install AcsSoft Photo Movie Album V8.2
- Run 'setup.exe' from the directory where you unzip the files.
- If you have a CD with photos given by a friend or relatives, the VB runtime libraries will be automatically installed.
If it fails, you may also run it manually by double clicking the file 'PhotoV82.exe'
Notes: AcsSoft Photo Movie Album runs on Windows XP and Vista
Before the Vista Installation, you need to make the 'Command Prompt' as Administrator, run the steps below:
- On Window Vista desktop, click the 'Start' icon (button left corner)
- At the Pop-up window, click 'All Programs'
- At 'All Programs' list box, click 'Accessories' folder
- At 'Accessories' list box, click 'Command Prompt' with the right mouse button
- At the pop-up menu, click 'Properties'
- At 'Command Prompt Properties' window, click the 'Advanced' button
- At 'Advanced Properties' window, click check box 'Run as Administrator'.
- Click 'OK' at the 'Advanced Properties' window
- Click 'Apply' at the 'Command Prompt Properties' window
Upgrade Old Version to V8.2
Install the new version in a new directory (e.g. c:\PhotoV82). When
finished, simply copy the PhotoDB.mdb from the old version directory
to this new directory (e.g. c:\PhotoV82).
Screen Saver Installation
To choose this Album as your screen saver, use the right mouse button
to click anywhere on the desktop screen, and select 'Properties'.
From the 'Display Properties' window, click the Screen Saver option,
and select 'AcsSoft Photo Movie Album V8_2' as your the
screen saver. You may change the settings by clicking the 'Settings' button.
Run AcsSoft Photo Movie Album from a CD
The program was customized to run on a CD. For distributing your photos, movies,
MP3, audio and other media, simply choose 'Install Photos/Movies + Viewer to CD-R'
from the Album Menu to copy the files to the CD together with the royalty-free
Viewer. The software on CD is self-installable and self-running. As soon as
the CD is inserted to the drive, the photos and movies will be displayed automatically.
Publish Photos And Movies to Internet
The photos and movies can be published as web pages to the Internet, simply choose
'Publish As Web Pages to Internet or CD-R' which generates the web pages and
copy them to your website.
Install Photos on CD-R or CD-RW under Windows XP Pro
---- Note: you need to install your own CD burner software first
- You need to install the photos on the hard drive first: In the Outline tree (click the first icon to display the Outline),
select the album or subject with the left mouse button, then click it again with right mouse button,
a drop down menu is displayed. Choose 'Install Photos to CD-R'
- When a screen is displayed to allow you to pick a CD drive letter, DO NOT select a CD drive letter,
simply type, for example, C:\V82\CD01 in the input field. Click OK to start copying.
- Upon coying is done, you may choose another album or subject for copying again. When finished, please exit the Album software
- You can supply your own music files by deleting the default 6 MD music files (in C:\V82\CD01\music),
then copying your files (mp3, mid and etc) to C:\V82\CD01\music.
- Finally, you need to burn the content of C:\V82\CD01 to the CD-R:
- Insert a blank CD-R to the CD-R drive (say D: );
- Right mouse the CD-R (or D:) and select Open.
- Optionally, You need to set the speed by right mouse clicking any blank area in the CD-R (or D:) folder.
Select the Property and Recording and select 4X for those who has slow CD drive
- Copy the content of C:\V82\CD01 MANUALLY to the CD-R (or D:) folder, do not copy the C:\V82\CD01 to the CD;
Now burn the CD, right mouse click anywhere in the CD-R (or D:) folder, and sekect 'Write these files to CD'.
- When finishing copying, remove the directory C:\V82\CD01
Install Photos on CD-R or CD-RW With Your Own CD Burner Software
- Follow the steps (1) to (4) in the previous method, 'Install Photos on CD-R or CD-RW under Windows XP'
- Copy the content of C:\V82\CD01 MANUALLY to the CD with your own CD burner (do not copy the C:\V82\CD01 to the CD).
- When finishing copying, remove the directory C:\V82\CD01
Setup Outlook Express using Hotmail Email ID
- Sign up a new mail account in http://www.hotmail.com if you do not have one
- Start up MS Outlook Express, select 'Account' from Tool Menu
- Press the 'Add' button and select 'Mail'
- In the Display Name field, enter your name, press 'Next' button
- Enter Email ID (e.g. myname@hotmail.com), press 'Next' button
- Keep defaults (HTTP server, Hotmail as provider), press 'Next' button
- Keep account name as your hotmail ID, enter email password
- Press 'Next' button to finish the setup.
For non-Hotmail Email ID, you need to obtain POP and STMP addresses, please contact your ISP to setup the Outlook Express.
Setup for Publishing Photos in Internet
- You need to setup the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) first; this can be demonstrated by these 2 examples:
- My ISP is Rogers (need to contact Rogers to enable the web space), user name is patrickwongc2, and password is 12345678:
- FTP Address: www.embers.rogers.com (supplied by ISP), optional ISP folder is blank, do not change the port (i.e. 21)
- Website: www.members.rogers.com
- User name: patrickwongc2, check the box 'include my user name in the URL'
- Password: 12345678
- Website URL: http://www.member.home.com/patrickwongc2/AlbumName.htm where AlbumName is the album that you selected.
- My Web Hosting provider is WWW.POWWEB.COM , my user name is bigmac23, and password is 12345678:
- FTP Address: ftp02.powweb.com (supplied by www.Powweb.com ), optional ISP folder is htdoc, do not change the port (i.e. 21)
- Website: www.big_mac.org (supplied by www.Powweb.com )
- User name: bigmac23, do not check the box 'include my user name in the URL'
- Password: 12345678
- Website URL: http://www.big_mac.org/AlbumName.htm where AlbumName is the album that you selected.
Optional ISP folder is the sub-directory where the web pages be stored, but not include in your web site address. Please check with your ISP for more details.
